Denver Baggage Transfer
Great Lakes Airlines has baggage inter-line transfer agreements with
MOST of the Denver connecting airlines. This means, the bags you check at North Platte will be transferred to your Denver connecting airline and delivered all the way to your destination.
Currently, the domestic airlines that do not have Denver inter-line baggage transfer agreements with Great Lakes are:
Southwest, Jet Blue, AirTran, Delta and Northwest. If you intend to travel with checked bags from North Platte and connect with one of the non-inter-line airlines you will have to claim your bags in Denver and go thru the entire check-in and screening process again.
To forgo this hassel, you can elect to take a carry on bag with you. The new restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols make packing a carry-on somewhat of a challenge, but with the right kind of planning it can easily be done. Go to
TSA's 3-1-1 site for information on what you can pack in your carry-on bag.
It is hightly recommended that, before you book your flight, you check with Great Lakes Airlines (308) 532-1558 to verify the baggage transfer capability of the airline your are intending to connect with in Denver.
NOTE: If you book separate tickets,
the other airline's reservation information will not be in Great Lakes' computers and, as such,
the ticket agents at North Platte will not know what airline you are connecting with in Denver. So be sure to have all of your trip itinerary confirmation documents with you at check-in, so the Great Lakes' ticket agents can check your bags (if applicable) and provide you with Denver concourse information.
